Why kinder?

Research shows that kindergarten improves children’s health and wellbeing, helps them to develop strong social skills and encourages a love of learning.

Children who go to a kindergarten program are more independent and confident and are more likely to make a smooth transition to primary school (Prep).

All Warrnambool City Council Kindergartens offer play based learning programs and incorporate the Healthy Together, Kids Matter, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden and Indigenous Language programs into their curriculum.

In 2020 Warrnambool City Council will offer Nature Kindergarten at some kindergartens, where children can experience natural outdoor play, explore the open environment and connect with nature.

All Warrnambool City Council kindergartens have achieved an exceeding rating in relation to the National Quality standards, a comprehensive set of measures which guide families in identifying quality approved education and child care services across the country.

Any kindergartens which are not managed by Council arrange their own enrolments.
Please contact these kindergartens directly.
